Hi people, I do not know if it is a possible question.
Is there a possibility of converting a SSS pickup configuration to HSS example like on a strats?
I don't really like how a single coil sound, more into humbucker on bridge.
Hard to find a HSS strats, thus if can change a SSS into HSS by??

Thx.

that's what i did to mine:

Depends on your guitar. If its some Squier strat, you might as well save up and buy a Squier fat strat (HSS) bcos the cost of routing and wiring is probably gonna be twice the price of the Squier anyway. Or you could do what sub did.

If ur strat body has a routing cavity (remove pickguard and u can observe) that's big enough to fit in a humbucker at the bridge position, then just get a HSS pickguard, ur choice of humbucker and ur set..oh n dun forget a 500K pot too :)

Sub: So your is a single humbucking pickup? Does it still sound near to a humbucker pickup? Or total difference?

faizal_rocks: For the routing cavity, if have, it is possible to fit a humbucker pickup?

You need to remove the pickguard and see the cavity holes...look at the position where the bridge single coil is residing. If its of a recatangular shape, then yes, a humbucker pickup can be placed there..or if ur not sure, take it to a shop and they can advise u :)
