Recently im in my SRV craze and im making my own number 1 replica..so i was browsing the web just now, i came across this spanish forum, i believe, and this guy, MADE 4 of the most recognisable guitars stevie used, the number 1, lenny, charley and yellow( aka butter)...it is pretty cool and in the thread of 21 page, he shows some steps in to making them...darn if only i knew what they were typing abt.. heres some pics of it..

DAMN!!! im so jealous..the charley looks damn cool and i wonder how the lipstick tubes sound man...

Nice. i knew SRV had the first 3 guitars and used them live and for recording but didnt know about the yellow one.

Yeap only knew of the 3 strats but didnt know about yellow.But its interesting to see that it only has a neck pickup.Uber cool!

its wierd that his no.1 strat has a different initial decal

yea the story why the decal is diff is because, stevie was abt to play a show on tv when his stickers came off..so the design crew of the show came up with this design,i cant rmb wad its made of..and it has been o nthe number 1 till he passed on..so when fender CS went to make the tribute strat, it was based on the same design..
