I just called up SL and they said that a Squier Affinity Telecaster costs about $400+

isnt $400 abit over priced?

Or is it because of the 7% GST or something like that?

actually my 'abit more' meant about 100-150 more

if you want <400, try a 2nd hand guitar

most of them go for about 200-300
need to try before you buy first tho, might have 'problems'

As for the price, is it before the "discount" or after?

As for the US price, if you are familiar with more gear out there on US site, you will realise its always been more or less like that, seem so cheap in US, but so expensive locally. Unfortunately, things dont just convert from USD to sgd just like that. There is business calculation involve at the price we see.

as for why it is for the price, i can safely say, no one in the forum will give a correct answer, its all hear say, i think you though kinda. Even if anyone know the answer, also wont post it.

End of the day, hehe, try buying overseas, pay shipping, pay gst(if applicable) and not trying the guitar on hand if its possible, if not, try used market(classified) or play the game as how the shop set it..
