Good Day Softies,

Just need someone to clear my doubt,im trying to figure out the body wood of my guitar.I got it from a sale from a music center. The guy said that it was basswood. But i happen to browse through some local websites they said it was alder.anyone know why?

Thanks.

Depends on year of make. Some of them has their body made with Agathis.
mine is in alder. U can check the grain of the wood by removing the neck and check the neck pocket.

Hope this helps.

Well i dont wanna tear apart my guitar just to check for the body wood.
But i do believe, this series comes with either agathis or alder? i believe basswood is out of the question?the tone of the guitar sounds too bright for a basswood body.

From what I have read, it seems that they were made with basswood bodies for a period of time, whether it is still the case I do not know. And checking the neck pocket is a relatively harmless task! Just unscrew the 4 screws on your neckplate during your next string change for a quick look and screw them back when you're done.

then i suppose urs is alder body...if its too bright to be basswood, its way too bright to be agathis :)

then again i went to research some webbies and i think if urs was bought recently, it should be alder :)
