many, many , many thanz bro neuro... paiseh la...
MY next performance or SYNE OF TYME'S next performance. We may be (actually most probably) be going down to Woodstock at Planet Marina this Sat 15 Oct at 1030pm coz my good buddy Riki hendrix is having his Jimi Hendrix Tribute show there. We might go up & jam in the 2nd set...seeing how the mood...
As for me personally...imagine this...I was lpaying in an Orchestra last Fri...for S'opre Taler's ball...Sat ngt - sesioning for Country & Western Band and Sun reherasing with SOT -

neuro...2b honest with U I session (myself aloneas a guitarist or frontman) wt alot of cari makan bands including jazz bands, pop /rock, countr, world and oldies bands. I also do one man accoustic as well as 3 pc strollers...nie $$$ on the side while enjoying playing music coz It's really hard making a living here...of course SOT is the main project for all of us right now.
Lobangs...like any other kind of business..networking. First of all if U in a band try to be as versatile as possible. Build up the repertiore etc. I HATED playing country previously but when U look at it. In fact Im considered quite low profile amongs the musos who normally network & hang out a fair bit...I'm more of a "go down, play gig then balik kampong kinda guy).
Reputation for punctuality, sensible dressing (to suit gig), homework and general behavior & character will be remembered by agents / organisers and band leaders etc. I may not be the best guitar player around but I make sure who ever hires me on the night...I will be well prepared for the gig (unless it's the jazz / orchestra gigs - open score & band leader counts in 1,2,3...). 8)
For newbies...try to play as much as posible to gain expirience and confidence to work a crowd.

Yeah currently I'm sourcing for gigs & compies to play to get more exposure cuz we're still pretty much a new band.
Maybe as we play more gigs & get ourselves exposed to the crowds, then that's where the lobangs will start to flood.

OH Ya....dats rite..forgotten all abt sbotb..hee hee... yeah great stuff man u guys....poem bits were interesting too..hope to see U at powerjam 98 finals supportin us man...
all the best in yer upcoming projects..BTW there's a church in Tan Boon Liat Building that we occasionally gig at ...maybe next tyme U guys can come down & do a set or something?

the poem? oh i tink u r referring to the passage we recited during the break part. its actually an extract of a bible passage.
oic, that's gre8 man. 1 qn - how do we go about applying?
We'll be applying for Third Place gig 1st at the end of this year..

That album is good.. One of my fav is Damage Control. DT players got alot of side projects. Maybe if you have heard the Liquid Tension Experiment's album, you can do up a review.. I love Acid Rain & Universal Mind.
