Cheez, the Effects was taken off the Specs part of the Yamaha P250 site....full details as follows:

Effects
Preset voices: Reverb x 5 types, Chorus x 3 types, Insertion effect x 13 types
XG voices: Reverb x 18 types, Chorus x 19 types, Variation/Insertion effect x 123 types

Oh haha. Ok, I think I've just realized that there was a comma before the Variation....I assume it means I've got 123 types of XG voices in terms of variation?

I think they are talking about effects. Effects changes the colour of the sound - things like flange, delay etc.
