i use vista 32 bit.. i check a maudio on laptop.. the sounds not clear..rge rge souns. i use abeton 4.

any one use midi controler on laptop with same problem?

saler say soundcard no good.. but i try a korg..its ok.sound clear

I'm sorry, but you are not very clear on the problem.

You are using an M-audio midi controller. The midi controller does not generate any sound, so the problem does not lie with it.

You need to describe what you are hearing more accurately. The problem is likely due to your audio interface. When you say the Korg is OK, what model of Korg keyboard are you using and how is it connected to you laptop?

vista home premium

i use korg K61 plug direct to USB in my laptop..sound comes from laptop clear..

i plug keystaion 61 es direct to USB laptop.. there is piano sounds but not clear..'rge rge" piano sounds.

the problem is not the controler 'cause it does make sound.. sound come from the laptop sound cards..

maybe its my laptop soundcards problem.

make me surprise is the soundcards run okay with korg k61.then i think it maybe not the soundcards problem

someone use maudio on laptop have this problem?

This is highly irregular. The midi controller should not affect the sound at all since all it transmit is midi data. Make sure that the keystation is trasmitting from only one midi channel. And that one midi channel linked to only one midi output in your Ableton. Other than this, I can't think of any other problems with midi routing internally that can cause the problem you are experiencing. My suggestion is still to change your audio interface. Not sure if the M-audio drivers are conflicting with the soundcard (which I doubt), but the problem is almost certainly from the soundcard.

The other question is: are you using ASIO drivers? If not, try downloading and installing ASIOforall.

Change your audio interface and your problem should disappear. Somebody is selling an Echo Indigo from SOFT. Not sure if it's still on sale. It's a good cheap, lightweight solution to notebook music production. I'm using the Indigo IO myself.

i think must be the driver problem or setting problem 'cause the controller is same as a computer keyboard..

there is ASIO
DIRECT -->working
MMX

Can you describe your entire setup? Are you Korg and M-audio BOTH connected to your notebook, and if so, how?

Don't use MMX. Use ASIO.

Even if there is a driver problem, it will affect your midi timing, NOT the sound. Unless there is some kind of conflict with your audio drivers, which again I said, it's not likely. But no harm trying - look at your notebook's Control Panel's devices. Check for any interrupt conflicts.

I still think the problem will go away by changing upgrading your audio interface.

i use to have that problem too...but after i get myself an audio interface, the problem just solve by itself.

keystaion works on vista but a bit of letency ( wont recognise).the software ableton dont work on vista

setting was MMX buffer 10 ..sample size 849..77ns
