somethingood 2008: auditions

yeah i hope they do -- unfortunately such logic fails some people. i do get that they're worried about the quality of what gets presented, etc., but what i don't get is the solution that they've limited us to: a 2hr audition on a weekday.

so i guess everyone's kinda gotten the picture, somewhat, though the entire story is still painful to tell!

thanks much, though. keep those e-mails coming! :)

crap.. missed the deadline!!!! Plus I doubt we would have made it for a weekday audition.. lol.. entire band working and/or studying.. Demo or something can use?

is this thing still available? i just found this thread. oh shit and my band will be very interested in being part of this event. we don't have demo though but how about coming to watch us perform this Saturday? Treat it like some kind of audition?

argh, hands are tied on this one -- i'd love to have more bands play with us but the auditions just had to be on a weekday! ... simply because the relevant stat board's office is, i quote the manager, "closed on weekends".

we've been suggesting several solutions, such as holding auditions on a weekend on their behalf, with their guidelines, etc., or submitting audio / video recordings -- and these proposals were well-written (i promise!) -- but... i desperately need flexibility from the public sector.

I don't want to turn this into some rant about the civil service here, because I've had a good working relationship with at least one or two officers in the service. And i understand the administrative safeguards that they have to put into place. Still, we could do with more flexibility -- it's stifling in here.
