nope...being a lefty just means you have less options to choose when buying guitars. more often than not guitar models come in only right handed version. hmmm being small doesn't affect much. a 7 year old girl plays guitar better than me...she's on youtube if you wanna see. and you can't be smaller than her haha

Ask politely can liao. and share with the salesman your budget and what you are looking for, they can definitely recommend you some bang for bucks guitar.
what do you mean by how to tell the sound of the guitar?? when you or the salesman plug it into an amp and start to whack the strings then just let ur ears tell you whether you like the sound of the guitar or not. if you can't tell the diff between 2 guitars by ear then just go for the one you feel most comfy playing.

I think learning right-handed is fine even if you're lefty, cause... MOI LEFTY TOO
(lefties FTW) and I play right-handed. I feel that it helps you start playing faster, cause you'll be using your left hand for fingering. I tried that with my right hand, took ages to get anything right but with left was alot faster.O and being short isn't reall a factor imo, just see which one feels comfortable. I'm shorter then you T.T and i'm using a es-335 shape guitar, which is like huge compared to me =\ looks stupid on me but hey I love how it sounds and looks (by itself)

can't see the links from my phone but ur best bet would be to go down and try for urself. get someone who knows something abt guitars and treat him or her to a meal then get him / her to help you test out. that's of cos if you dun trust the sales person la. even if you dun trust the sales person he will eventually plug the guitar in for you to test so dun worry abt not being able to hear it lol. just remember something: tone is 50% amp 50% guitar. so test it on an amp ur gonna get rather than those big ass amps that makes most guitars sound good haha!!
