That's the trouble with young people ..as I keep "nagging".

You want it easy..you want to be spoon fed...you get inpatient with the details..you just want to see the answers and move on.

If you have been following the gist of the many postings on this thread, both from me and some others...you may find part of the solution staring at you already.

But you want me to spell it out for you....tch tch tch !!

Blofied, I'm trying to be very patient here. As I said, we have suggestions and are discussing this. We do want to hear from you, since you've said you've got some ideas. And yes, spelling it out clearly is better than beating around the bush. If I mark a dissertation topic by a student who beats around the bush, that person doesn't get as high a mark as one who gets to the point. I may very well fail that student.

This is not spoon-feeding. This is getting your point across clearly. And while we are about it, I do find your derogatory comments directed at "young people" unsettling. Everybody was young once, and so were you. We all try to help groom the next generation. And while we're about it, I'm already married with 3 kids and is no longer belong in the young cohort.

This thread is already suffering...since it centers around one person instead of a topic. A true anatomy of a bad thread. The topic is worth considering, but the way it's heading is going nowhere.

Really? IMHO I think your anxiety is really showing. You want to eat the cake before the baking's done.

I am posting in a forum and responding to people who chose to engage me. I am not writing a dissertation to solicit your grades. I aim to provoke people to think and react...I have achieved that aim, and proved that this forum indeed has people willing to speak up on other things besides drums, technique and drum idols. Fail me if you like..it means nothing to me. But you have to wait till everything pans out before the answer is evident to you.

If you fail to get my point, that's too bad. READ more carefully or give up on me... quite a few others have got my point quite clearly and responded accordingly.

Comments that are valid are not derogatory. i never take offence at the numerous barbs that young people here throw at me. I challenge them and stand tall..not cry and complain. Yes we were all young once and I know that hard knocks and the painful truth never hurt a young spirit.
But don't forget - we will all grow old..or die before our time. Everything we are or enjoy today we owe in no small ways to those who came before us - the young would do well to reflect on this.

A thread, like a forum, cannot suffer. It either thrives, or languish and die. It may centre round an individual because the forum members chose to engage that person for what ever reasons. It's a lively thread... attracting more a greater diversity of members than any other who have felt the need to say their piece, esp some of the silent majority who put up with the normal shallow inanity of this forum. You may not like the way the thread is heading...but it may help if you would stay on the topic instead of trying to knock me down for my views. BTW...have you made any attempt yet in offering some solutions to the issues raised ?
