i mean, come on, i think they the most common guitars out there!

im not dissing ibanez-guitar owners, but what the heck eh, wouldnt it be nice if you had a guitar..

1. That was unique?

2. Didnt have an archetypical shape?

i for one dun like ibanez...

dunno why the looks of it just puts me off.

no offence... just dun like the look

i think its more to personal preference.

i mean about unique stuff , if u like a guitar REALLY bad , but it is common , would you really care ?

maybe its the price?

anyway its the same thing with crumplers.its so damn frikkin ugly to some but still there are loads who fork out like $200 for it?

I guess its playability and value over looks bro. For the price, Ibanez guitars are worth every cent. But I agree with you, Ibanez guitars look generic, haha. But they play and sound really good if you ask me.

personally i dont like the ibanez shape too. the horns are a turn off to me.

BUT ibanez guitars are definately finger friendly

actually if you think about it. You see alot of gibson les pauls on MTV too; so les pauls can be considered common too in that sense

imo if you really wanted something unique you'd probably have to have your own signature guitar ahaks

doesnt fender and gibson have very common shapes? this had been discussed before. if you want something unique, perhaps you should custom make a guitar to the shape you want?

i do not know why you diss ibanez so much, and i think most of you here are thinking Ibanez = RG series. Take a look at the whole range of guitars that ibanez provide, i believe they have more varieties compare to many of the major brands.

hope they see this and endorse me :P

HAHAHA ! "suckup to ibanez !" <- joking.

anyways , yea , ibanez provides more than JUST the RG series , i LOVE the xipho.

I love ibanez guitars, i personally own an IC400 iceman and love every part of it. I've tried RGs, SAs, even a PGM and they all have never failed to disappoint. I also like the way they look. Their relatively pointy, and it appeals to a metalhead like me. I don't like the LP for the reason that it looks round and obese.

I like the Artist series esp the semihollows and the double cutaways. Those are really classic!
I like the Talman series. They're like the Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Mustangs of Ibanez.
When I was in my 80's rock thing... RG is KING lah... and the Sabre.

Note: its all about the looks man!

rikki, Crumplers are pretty nice actually...the smaller and lower price ones, that is...

Me no like Ibanezes too. Not sure why so many likes them though...but hey, whatever floats their boat.

not an ibanez guitar fan here too...

but i guess they are worth the money for what ppl pay for them for

haha didnt know that quite a few softies would share my sentiments... i thought the whole soft was for ibanez haha!

I think it's a matter of what you start out with, at least for me it is.

I started with Ibanez, even though it was just a GSA and nothing close to what the Prestige series has to offer, it let me approach ibanez with an open mind( and a really tight budget back then).

Time and time again I've considered switching camps due to Ibanez's generic-ity, but I still love what Ibanez has to offer.

Ibanez are definitely well priced instruments to me, for their playability exceeds numerous other brands per unit price. I recommend it to all my new students in the club and they are the most unique instruments in school. They aren't anywhere close to generic, a SA120 red cherry stands out from every other 500 dollars les paul out there. I have an RG2570E and i don't think that's generic at all.

Also, Ibanez, unlike numerous other brands, does not have a little brother company, like Epiphone-Gibson, Squier-Fender. So it seems like everyone's playing Ibanez, but in reality Ibanez is not whored, but simply aptly branded in every price range.

For ibanez players, regardless of which model, Ibanez gives us a sense of familiarity.

For those who don't agree with it, this familiarity becomes the "typicality" you feel, which is just the very strong image of an ibanez guitar.

7 string players have to play ibanez unless they can afford something custom, only other thing that comes to mind is a schecter since ESP stopped making 7s. And there is also a reason why Ibanez is the first company to put an 8-string in their production line, with confidence.

This is a great example of how ibanez knows what we need, and produces accordingly. Their "tradition" does not lie in a single guitar style, but in a more general definition of "what the player wants", which EVOLVES with time.

I can't help but feel offended by this thread, Ibanez is another one of those great brands whom a great number of us love, there isn't a guitar that i'd ever need that I can't find in Ibanez( besides an 8 string with tremolo and piezos xD).

 Ibanez, pick me instead!

i find ibanez too common..

and the looks of it..its nothing special...

im only sore about one thing..the ZR tremolo..

such tremolo only for ibanez S series..ARGH!

i dun wanna get the S series juz for the trem..TSK! :x
