Sup, I would like to change the bridge pickup of my tele, any reccomendations? anywhere that i can get everything done below $100?(include installation)

some famous brands are seymour duncan, dimarzio. with your budget, you might need to look at the buy/sell area.. or you can try standardvalue. i think there's a rail humbucker for tele.. tesla i think.

I tink its quite impossible, considering that PUs go >100 almost every shop(brand are a factor). U can try 2nd hand PUs, but the downside is that u are unable to hear whether its works until u installed....

so its impossible to get the pickup and installation Below $100? if u buy from their shop they won't free install for u? hmm thats ARGHH!!!

Installation is about $20/pickup, varies across shops but i think most shops charge it around that price range. I do know however, that SV changes your strings free of charge after that. Can't remember if the strings come free though, most probably not.

erm i bought my yamaha pacifica at yamaha tampines. they help me string my guitar for free.. lol. the service charge and strings all free.. and the pacifica is the low end model.

Its common practice to do that if you buy a guitar new, cause the strings might be rusty, and its not nice to let someone take a guitar with rusty strings home right? Basic customer service.

Most shops charge about $1.50 - $3 per string. Duh its not free. Its tough work ! But i think Mike does it since he's just nice enough to put your strings back after taking them out when installing your new pickup. -shrugs.

Arh, some, like davies, who charge my fren $15 just for changing a set of classical strings when he only asked to change the High E

Tell your friend to learn and restring himself.
its quite simple from the youtube tutorials you know.

HI-5 very niceee....
I was in that sheet hole before :C just that mine was on the b string , but i had an even worst experience there.
I went to request for adjustment for my guitar which had a FR set up and guess what they simply tuned it up and changed my strings when i didn't even freaking break any, feeling unjust that they just changed the strings and charging me an extra 15 bucks i paid the total charge which included the service of 10 dollars adding to 25. upon reaching home i found out my guitar was out of tune and my bridge was partially sinking wth? -_-
ever since that experience I've stopped going to davis

-sry outta point-

Anyway errm single coil humbuckers and those hum like emgs/les pauls hums are they in anyway diff other then the looks?

Changing to a single coil size humbucker won't get u the 100% sound of a humbucker, it will still sound twangy but powerful.
