i dont know but cmon..everyone, i mean how many singaporeans listen to okay some famous act, the great spy experiment, electrico, corrine may? just seem a bit upsetting haha. Its like we got so much talent but nobody cares. I mean if you guys have been to *scape, blackhole;s gig etc etc. You guys know that at least 80% of the people who went for the gig have a band. So its like band supporting band. NOT normal listener listening to the band. AND THE WORST PART is how other asian's country signer can grow so big here. e.g - korean artist (no offense to them). I mean why did u need to look so far to find good music? AWARENESS NEED TO BE RAISED

^You must understand that talent perceived varies from people to people. Michael Jackson was talented as hell, that doesn't mean I listen to his music. We all have different tastes in music. Some people like K-Pop, some people like me like Metal. And since I hate most metal music coming out from Singapore(that I've heard) I tend to listen to Malaysian 80s Rock Music, or Bay Area Thrash or Heavy Metal or 70s Classic Rock music rather than our local bands.

it isnt about the quality of music from our shore but the caliber of general listening group somewhat crashing with whats available out there

the thing about the regular ordinary teenage or early 20s kinda bands in singapore is, all of them sound the same, look the same and play the same sort of stuff. you see this sort of shit in competitions especially all the time.
it gets boring.
you have to attract and entertain before you can wow people with your playing, no one would really care if you can play 10000 notes a second if you look like the band they have just seen moments ago.

lol..yah but some of the examples i give is the great spy,electrico, corrine may. They are not below 20, and they are better known in other country than our own i guess haha. Kinda true i mean most of those band is either a hard metal band or smth.

Anyone can "sing" about who/what their represent, and make it rhyme.
But rap, rap brings a deeper meaning.
Just so you know, in their (ah bengs) world, it's called Gang Poems. Not even rap to begin with.
If yous wanna know more about rap, I can start a thread specifically about rap, just to make you understand. If you still don't accept it, it's your choice at the end of the day.
