hi just wanted to check, i recently went to sinemax to check out their rec equip and the arrogant boss there wanted to sell me some stuff at extravagant prices, heard that guy is a real cunning salesman. so wanted to get opinion on whether there are better options than sinemax in terms of price and sound quality? since they carry their brands exclusively or its better to get from overseas?

any opinion is greatly appreciated!

he recommended me audio interfaces and condenser mics prices around 300 and 380 respectively if im not wrong. i found cheaper ones at luther music and city music that were few hundred lesser...i must admit the sound quality is good tho but i think the things there are overpriced

james i wanted to find out if you have any recommendations or opinions on this? i'm real serious about buying a good audio interface and condenser mic

Some item carry by sinamex can be found in luther. Comparing price by price. You can save a bit of money but not in term of hundreds.

jude777, from my experience, Sinamex never quotes an extravagant price. All their prices are as per their price list on their website. Being the distributor, they are unable to give a discount as that would eat into the margins of their dealers i.e. Luthermusic etc.

You can choose to go to the dealers of Sinamex's brands if you want a slight discount. RME is a good brand and will most likely cost more than 300. You may have been recommended Focusrite by Simon(?). You can look into the standard Rode NT1A microphone that everyone uses if you are doing a modern genre that requires a lot of cut.

Hi Jude,

If you are interested, my company makes a great sounding microphone for $250.

CM-910.png

The CM-910 is better than the entry level Rodes and ATs in terms of mid range detail and clarity.
An engineer who heard it said it sounded like his AKG 414 ULS.
These are not mediocre sounding microphones.

To save costs, we used simple packaging materials and a generic China-made chassis.

On the inside however, our engineers have put in selected German components.
Diaphragms are selected on test rather then mass produced.
And all mics are properly tested with Prism Sound measurement equipment before leaving the factory.
( We are the regional distributor for Prism Sound ).

Our higher end mics come with Lundahl Transformers and adhere to the same quality tests.
You will find our prices very reasonable for the level of quality you are getting.
( We even have a $500 Ribbon Mic with a Lundahl Transformer! )

We welcome you to visit our showroom and try out the mics for yourself.
I am pretty confident you will be impressed.

Our showroom is at Sim Lim Tower, #02-30.

See you soon!
