Simple Home Recording

HI GUYS!

Just wanted to find out how you guys do your 'simple' home recordings. I havent exactly figured out how to record stuff properly so all im using now i my shitty mp3 to record stuff at home. Some of my friends tell me to plug it into the soundcard but i dont quite understand them. I was thinking of the toneport ux1 too any owners care to share a little bit about it?
