No specifics there. Personal preference. But in general a set of 8s or 9s, coupled with low action plus a pick of 1mm or bigger is the norm. You can even shred on 10s

Ye can try those mini sized sharp picks. Or speed picks. Anything ta get it ta move faster..Ain't no big difference, bt just if ye'r a perfectionist, i think :? Whoa i'v seen lotsa different viewpoints of what shredding is. Some call it mindless, some fantastic meteorite stuff. Itz just speed. Some go for the challenge, some go for the fame, some go for the fun, some go for the girls (who noes where this came frm :lol: ). Herez a pointer..Once you'v gained enough speed, try shredding upside-down. Michael Angelo? Hell yeah..Bt it aint as hard as it looks. I call it fun Try sweeping too..the floor i mean.

oh... i've seen the upside down shredding vid. It's damn cool but I dun think I'll be trying anything liddat soon. lolx. Speed picks are the small ones izzit? okies. thanx for the tip.

Well, picks don't necessarily make you play faster. Some swear by using Jazz IIIs ... but note some shredders out there use big picks.
