Should i get a RG or Strat?

Since you already have an LP, just stick to the classics and get a Strat, you'll cover a lot of bases with these 2. If you notice, all seasoned guitar players almost always have the traditional axes ready at the studio. Now, the only thing you're missing is a Tele.

and im glad i dun sound terrible on a strat! whew... finally able to put that ghost to rest.

Congratulations! Thats one of the better achievements of any guitarist. To not suck on ANY guitar. When you're able to play well on any guitar you pick up, you're naturally a better player.
