Hi all,

one of my team members are going to holland to visit his gf,
so he was doing some check out store and "amaze" by their ridi prices.

let say for a pick-up is easily twice the amount.
as he got some guitarist friend over there( heard that from one prominent goth band). and want him to help him buy some gadgets in singapore..and willingly to buy from him at 20% mark up). do you think it's possible?
any implication?

Possible, and why not? Ask for their shipping address, ask them to pay upfront via bank wire transfer and deliver to them when funds cleared.

But you ask yourself: most of the things they want come from USA, like pickups, effects blah blah blah. Then why they never buy straight from ebay or from US dealers? Its because... their Government tax them a lot!! So even if you sell to them, the items will also be subjected to their custom declaration and become expensive in the end also...

No implications on your part, just receive the money.

Then purchase the items and make sure you declare for custom value as its actual value + purchase insurance for the item's value.

Make sure your friend tells the Dutch person that all custom/shipping/handling/duty/taxes/insurance are to be borne by the buyer.

**That is a super important point.

So your legal obligation ends once you give him the tracking number.
Whether it reaches The Netherlands, gets stolen or whatsoever, its the logistic company's problem once you have insurance. If it gets stuck in custom because he refuses to pay duty/taxes or what not, its not your problem as well.

Protect yourself, get him to buy insurance so he protects himself as well.

hahahaha thanks,

my teams gf advised him to actually wrap it as a gift.
cos most of the dutch wants are pick-up( they reckon, that how can a pcs of magnet bar be retail for so ex)

so for pickup hand carry, should be ok ?

If you are bringing it into the Netherlands by hand, then just put it in its own box and bring it into the country.

If they ask, just say its for a friend.

Declaration is mainly used because of insurance protection. If you're bringing it over, there will not be any insurance coverage. Just put the thing into your bag or check it in.
