Sg Idol Piano Show..... June 7 2006..... Have ur say...

..

it's always nice to see them develop their skills as well as their personalities on tv.

its a scam, but which reality tv show isn't?

No offence to any one but out of the thousands and thousands who queued up for the auditions - are the selected ones really the best of the lot? Is SG idol abt looks or actual singing ability? I'm sure there were much better singer / performers out there....

well, to those who just switched on to singapore idol, you must remember that it happening because ofthe the one and only need to sell advertising dollars to the large percentage of the singaporean population. the more people tune in the bigger the advertising profit- it actually averages abt $15,000 for a fifteen day ad package with one slot on the singapore idol (primetime). lets not forget that this is singapore and LOOKS does matter about 80% of the time, the remainder 20% is always workable-i.e they can be trained to sing and act, no talent required.
as for the 7-11 endorsement? i really do tip my hat to them as they are the ones who actually bother to take that great big step to put the artiste on the forefront, on print and screen AND NOT the record company who signed the artiste in the first place- whatever happened to 'artiste development'? at the end of the day its all about how much money can be made from the winners.
the whole singapore idol concept was disastrous from the first place, from the auditions to the judging panel. i really should point out that the contestants do not deserve the damning comments from the judges-we are all humans.....
i feel that if the concept of dividing the auditions into each constituency would garner stronger support would you not support your idol contestant from pasir ris? jurong west? sengkang? then culminate into one best of 24 and then start eliminating......

oh judges - please watch your mouth they are just kids with a big dream!

YA STEW... but wat abt the other hopeful kids who REALLY cud sing - ...Im sure among the thousands who audition the selection commitee could have had better singers...

I think the judges are doing the right thing. If the performance was bad, its bad, mediocre then its mediocre, good then its good. Don't have to be "nice" about it. Snide remarks aside that is.

At the end of the day, I still hope the Singapore Idols, since its Singapore's Idols, can at least hold a decent tune. So the bunch up there, better be prepared to be grilled, whether for the sake of a show or for (whatever is) real...

well, how would you like it if i saw you playing at Yeast @ marine cove one saturday and i stood up and yelled that you are a totally useless, tonedeaf, cretin playing the guitar? and you should really reconsider you musical outlet and maybe start selling curry puffs at bus stations?

how would you feel?

i think that the comments should be truthful and constructive -

Thats why i said "Snide remarks aside that is".

If I played badly, then by all means, stand up and yell that I am "a totally useless, tonedeaf, cretin playing the guitar". Could have a more tactful way lah... heh.. but if its the honest truth, as a musician, I'll take it in my stride, re-evaluate myself and improve. Else, I'll quit and sell insurance to all my guitar buddies.

And as far as the judges on SI go, they are telling the truth and there are some constructive comments/critique being given. Some of the contestants are plain bad though... I feel for the judges when they have to try to be nice to them.

agreed wt Shredcow that some of the contestants were really bad - HOW ON EARTH WERE THEY SELECTED IN THE FIRST PACE?

Imagine if the AMERICAN IDOL JUDGES esp Simon were to comment on our SG Idol contestants...

It's odd but I did not catch what's the prize of being a Singapore Idol winner for this year? From what I've noticed it's just wham bam and it's the audition.

hello...

hello people!!

Ooo sg idol...My votes will be, rahimah and jasmine!

Watch the whole set yesterday, its kinda disappointing from the start. Like karaoke session siak!

I don't know why people say rahimah wasn't good enough. I think she really change my perception. She might not be pretty but who cares? Wacky fellow.

We want someone who can really sing and have their own set of creativity not just eye candy.

Thumbs up to Jasmine, she's cute and has a good voice.

But again, I think Jasmine and the "aint got u" gal will go through..why? Pretty mah!

Whatever it is, Ken Lim..Gua suka sama lu! Honest chap..

i think that they were some that reminded me of KTV gals at Tiananmen and Grand Century. The pitch , the warbling....hahhah,but some were at most Ok only lah...

But I think Ken Lim is honestly trying too hard to be "special"

His comments are neither constructive nor witty.

It wasn't the singing that left a bad taste in my mouth , it was his comments that I think were too harsh and tastelessly irrelevant on the young lads.

:D

I think Gurmit said something about, "Oh, I saw it flicked by accident."
something like that. something about accidental.

How can horrible dancing be disgusting?(Talyor Hicks)

and how can Rahimah be scary??
:?
