I though siew woon was the only one that sang .
gayle was like squeezing the lyrics in , maybe that was supposed to be done, no idea, but she's good.
Rahimah was like, mumbling and letting herself out with that "mpphhh" sound.ahhas.

wooit...
not trying to brag or anything... but i dunno laa.. its not like the first one which makes me feel so 'excited' during the results show

Hmm.
one of the reasons why I seriously watch AI more than Si is because AI has a real backing band.. as compared so SI's MIDI arrangement. Its kinda weird IMO how Mediacorp approaches this competition.. you want to produce true talent but with synthetic background music.... I can't see the link.
What's more IMO, it's also supporting local musicians if we have live bands which feature local guys playing music in support of upcoming talent. But of course.. this is just the win-win situation, and since when has anything been fair?

Hmm.
yah true hor. but I seriously cant stand off-pitch singing! even as a singer myself I try and work on it to make sure I sing in pitch. Not that I'm saying that these ppl dun make effort, but I think one of their achilles heel is that they try and sing tough songs to impress.. but in the end lau kui.

Maybe its the computer they used to display the words the hosts were suppose to say... It was rather dark.
Gayle's was disappointing(do you guys like her way of doing things?). Everytime I hear someone wants to sing Alicia Keys, I switch off a bit. Jasmine was good, but her stage presence was... I felt bored.
I only saw these 2.

this year constentants aren't as good as in the year 04. I hear them sing and was like>>>> 8O . To me the girls can't sing well. maybe jonathan and that two hill guy can go to the finals, and be another 7-11 endorser. Haiya what kind on endorsing is that (shake head) ???

producing local talents thru SI is only incidental, maybe even accidental. The main motive is those dollars from the sponsors and the SMS voting. Also, to fill up air time slots so they don't hv to buy more programmes from abroad.
hmm Thor, i think many of the participants of American Idol are at almost pro level when they first joined. But still, it's the most watched show in america.
but i dunno...do audiences watch a show to see growth from noobs to pros, or to be entertained by high-level musicianship. For me, i go for the latter.
if a contestant purposely hiccuped a performance, then i say it's a very brave, or foolish risk. could affect votes and the chance to stay in the competition.

Somehow i find contestants from the wild card round all gt eliminated early. Thats y AI scrapped the wildcard round and introduce a newer format of semi finals....Cuz they all want the contestants to have a fan base to be consistent in the finals. I should think the next SI, they should do that to.
Seriously, I think Rahimah is good for a 16-yr old..... A raw talent. Sometimes she might look scary or her attitude sucks but thats wat she is. I shouldnt think we should judge the contestants base on yesterday's performance...
And i should think Jasmine should become a Mediacorp actress in channel 8. She has the looks and i would think acting suits her.Her personality somehow reminds me of a certain Mediacorp actress.
