We do have a discussion on this. But maybe, since no one here had tested Made in Indonesia Schecters, we can't comment on it. Thus won't know if it's the exact same (tone and cosmetics) as those manufactured in the US - whether it's a copy or not.
True that they are surprisingly cheaper. But I don't know how well do they fair in the durability and playability areas.
But I will definitely check out and post it here alright. Starting from Batam all the way to Palembang. LOL
I shall travel there one day to check out. Cos they have a quite number of stores islandwide.
Anyway, here's the site that sells Schecter in Indonesia, that I'd love to visit one day. And I've checked, they don't ship to Singapore.

A beginner doesn't need to get some cheap guitars right? They too need a proper tool to start off with. Beginners does not equal to cheap guitars and pro does not equal to expensive ones.
Now define pro. I don't care if someone can shred like 200bpm. What's the point of playing fast when you are "lost in the guitar reality".
So love yourself; get yourself a guitar that you really want. Cos a guitarist is a guitarist; pro or not.
Now, print a big big photo of the Schecter you want and paste at your ceiling. hahahahaha!

My wallpaper is Schecter too!
But parents yaya only lah. See my parents, they were so against me getting a drumset, cos I NEVER drum before when i ask them for permission. But I just buy lah, with my own money of course. And now, even my mum drums!

WTF!!! Zenzo!!! Same case as me... 15 yr old here... I started guitar last year november... My mom said the same thing, wait til june... But but but, In the end, i made her buy me a schecter hellraiser avenger last few week... lol... Beginning guitar you use is the most crucial 1... cos it is it that makes you play guitar... Imagine staring at a cheap guitar maybe like TGM in your room everyday... Makes you no mood to play... But whenever i see my schecter... I touch it, lift it, plug it, and start practising... Jamming... anything... But of course you must take care of it too... If there is a chip in my schecter, i doubt i would play it often...

LOL!I gonna be 15 this year.Yeah,but my first guitar is a timbre so I'm still deciding whether I want a change of pickups or just get a schecter instead,cos the timbre has received lots of good reviews.If the schecter from indonesia has about the same tone and quality,i think i rather go for the schecter instead.Go floyd rose!LOL

haha, i totally agree with you on the part about the beginner guitar being the most impt.
took me 6months to decide which bass to get.
and yes, with a good guitar, it'll motivate u to play well. and to sort of "live up" to the image perceive by others on that guitar ( althought i don't really work that way)

This subject of whether or not a beginner should get a cheap guitar or not is a topic debated upon from God knows when.
TGMs, Timbres and SXs are seen as "sub-standards". But in reality, price tag and country of production/assembly and especially brand means nothing. A good guitar is a good guitar, irregardless. If the reviews seem to say they are good, and you have no problems whatsoever with your Timbre, then there is really nothing to fault Timbre for. Your acquisition for a Schecter would mostly be due to desire to have one. Post that on a Schecter Appreciation thread, and you'll find many people trying to urge you to get it as well, lol.
Try posting the same question as a general thread. You might get a different response altogether.
Honestly, I would urge you to access your immediate needs and budget first. Desire should come secondary, considering that you're relying on your parents for it. Timbre generally produce good guitars. They're not better than Schecter, but neither are they worse.
As mentioned, really depends on what you are looking for. If what you need is not available on your Timbre, but available on the Schecter, then get the Schecter.

LolX I'm also 15 this year... My Schecter C-1's cost was shared between me and my father... Yeah... Paid lyk 50% of it and my father the rest... I'm now waiting to get a Schecter Damien 6 or maybe another C-1... But I still have to save up for a new amp... a hardcase and some new effects... Well... You can't get everything u want in life without waiting rite?

Okay guys I have made up my mind.If the indonesia schecter's quality is great and cheap,I would go for the schecter.If its not,I guess I would get a change of pups first and wait till end of the year den get my schecter

I just went over to look at ibanez appreciation... So many pictures... But I look at most of the guitars, The design, shape, eveything is like same la... So bored so i stopped at page 2... Then i came back schecter... I realised that we lack of schecter pictures man... SO PPL!!! POST MORE PICS!!! EVEN IF WE'VE SEEN YOUR GUITAR BEFORE!!! POST MORE DIFFERENT SHOTS LEH!!!
