i think ur wrong sat. u can only play shred music with an RG.

shred using RG only? hmmm.. care to explain further? i think malmsteen would beg to differ... heeheehee.. :D

Haha, karloff!

Malmy has 0.08s on his axe... scalloped fretboard = super light touch.

SRV. what guage? .12 and .13?

Malmsteen will have trouble on his hands!

im sure he got it from asheligh music. the indian guy guitar store. i tried the santa fe guitar before and i thought it sounded ok. i once bought a guitar from there. not sure the brand but it was a strat copy. transparent red. i change the 3 pickup to dimarzio hs3 and it change the whole guitar in terms of soundwise.. the quality of the construction is not bad too... but then again, like i said before, if u have the cash$$$, get something more expensive and better.

Santa Fe - not too bad for it's price range... def betta than some other competitor guitars e.g TGM, Symphony, Samick etc.

Body is basswood not ply wood - sum copies I had were poplar. Body thickness were slim - just like the afinity squier strat. Hard ware average - just like other copy oriental strats. PUPS - average. + point for me was the medium jumbo frets - most other cheapo axes have small / vintage frets.

Verdict - for newbies or DIY enthusiats ok but if you have $ to upgrade..then do so...

BTW I had a few b4 and souped it up with emg, seymos, DiMarzio etc with better tunin heads & they served me fine for pub use. 8)

basswood?? hmmm.. im very sure mine is alder and not basswood.. maybe there are different type... i know samick strat and newer craftsman strat are plywood...

y r u so sure urs i alder?cuz the guy said so?i've seen a few of them on display tt r with translucent finish..their grains look so different from alder...

I may be wrong but the few pieces I bot were basswood. Some pieces have the weight of alder though but I seriously doubt it could be alder or Chinese alder as they say it is... it's a much pricer wood. My 2 cents worth anyway... 8)

nop.. its not because the guy said so.. i have some experience in the wood industries.. from my experience, i dont think basswood look like that.. but then again, i may be wrong as i didnt strip the body of the paint to check what it really is... just my 2cents worth.. but at least its not plywood stacked together... :D

Maybe it's a laminate.
