SansAmp Gt2: Worth or Not?

Hi SOFTies,

I'm planning to buy a SansAmp GT2 at 100 bucks from a fellow softie. Would like to have some opinions whether it is worth the price. Havent Check pics yet though...

Any Thoughts?

Cheers

It's a very good price! This pedal has saved me a lot of hassle live and in the studio where micing an amp is impractical. Use it like you would an amp simulator straight into the PA, not like a traditional distortion pedal. It can sound fizzy when you crank its drive, so I run the pedal clean and use other overdrive pedals to drive it.

back then a used piece could easily go for $180 - $200. $100 is like a steal.

check whether it's working. makes no difference if you have to get it repaired.

double check the footswitch is working fine to activate/bypass the effect by inserting a cable to the input when battery is in it.

Am not too sure if tech 21 ever update the gt2 to heavy duty stomp switch instead of the spring loaded mechanism footswitch. With the spring loaded footswitch, after years of stomping, theres higher possibility of it failling or needing to step on it few times before the connection get through. I have a gt2 from year 2001/2002 period which has that problem now.

sorry forgot to mention: the price has been LOWERED to 100 original price like 150 if im right...

It's a steal for that kind of price but do check the condition of the footswitch. I've used it last time and it has never disappointed me live nor in the studio. It takes abit of getting used too.
