Sansamp GT-2

Versatile; when can't buy/afford big monsters like mesas, full tube stacked marshalls and expensive 'tweedy' bird amps.

What you guys think of this little monster here?

yeap, it sounds better as an distortion unit. As an amp sim... too compressed and just... not very good.

However, it sounds wayyyy better than the TRI-OD as an amp sim.

Just out of curiousity, how is the sansamp gt2 in comparison with the tri-a.c? :D

Well, there are several posts/threads in SOFT detailing the differences but basically -

The Tri AC is more vintage voiced, has less gain. Has 3 basic sounds and you can't tweak their character...

GT2 is more modern eq-ed/voiced/sounding and has quite a bit more gain. Has 3 basic sounds but you can tweak...

There's the obvious difference in controls.

hmm.. shredcow, about the compressed tone, i kinda got rid of it by tweaking some knob, cant really remember it now cause i lent it to my friend, anyway, i think it is good as standalone or stacked la, can get fiercer tones stacked but a hell lot more noise :)

Well, the difference is apparent when a/b-ed against a similar product. In my case - a palmer junction DI box. The palmer just sounded way more natural, responsive, un-compresed, etc etc
