Roland RD 300GX

Hi, I'm new here. I'm a piano lover and have just recently upgraded to a Roland 88-key digital piano (delivered just last Fri in fact!) from a 61-key keyboard. Need some advice/comments on the following:

1) If I'm going to do some simple recording/sequencing via a computer, and eventually turning them into MP3 format, would the cakewalk Sonar LE (came supplied with the package) suffice?

2) Pretty much a general question: Armed with the DP and software, what are the various interesting things I could do with those?

I'm a newbie to music softwares and any comments are welcome. Any fellow owners of the new RD-GX series are welcome to chat about it as well.

Thanks! :)

Welcome to soft! I appears you may be one of the first here to get your hands on the GX! To answer your questions:

1. Yes, Sonar LE is sufficient. I don't think Sonar LE can convert wav to mp3, but you can do that easily with various freeware (Audacity, iTunes etc).

2. You can do lots of interesting things with sequencing. You have 16 midi tracks to play around with. Should be able to do most compositions. And with the GX Audio Key function, I'm sure you'll be having lots of fun with live performance.

Post some music here for us!
