ne ideas which is better 4 hard rock/metal
rg321 wif emg 60 n 81
epiphone les paul standard + wif emg 81 n 85

i prefer the 321 ..coz its lighter..and the 24frets do help when soloing
as for tonewise not sure ...they are diff i think rather than better..

i use the rg321mh to play pop.. dont think it'll do well even if you have like 10000 sets of emgs in them for metal

ok just jokes...

it'll serve you well no matter what you want to play i guess it's pretty versatile and value for money.. but i dont want to get stuck on it for too long either, looking for an upgrade in the near future

Remy... the tone depends on ur setting and amp used..
coz both of the guitars listed above are loaded with emg`s..
is there any reason why u listed the above?someone selling perhaps?i`ll take the 321 any day coz im not a fan of LP type of guitar.

Well i juz sold off an Epi Lp. Comparing it 2 an RG321, I wud take RG321. It's QC is way more better than EPI MIC and also RG321 is String Thru. But the feel of the two guitar is Diff. 4 example the neck is totally opposite. It depends on preference.

neck pickup of 24 frets guitar sound tighter..therefore better for metal..

i've juz sold an epiphone les paul too..n i think i'd take the 321 too..tho i'm more of hard rock>metal..
oh yeah..i realize..after selling my les paul..i find it hard to use other guitars..straight after selling it i went to play with frens..n used an MIJ strat (the 1 luther sells) which the feel i used to love n found great difficulty playing it..so bottomline is for me, once i've used a LP it'd be hard for me to use other guitars cuz i'd gotten used to the feel of LP so much..

isn't it better if you just shut up if you are not sure with what you are sayin'??

whoa.. chill out popeye.. if ppl don't know what they're saying, mayb its be better to enlighten them yeah??

besides, can someone explain why 24 frets are supposed to sound tighter??? unless you're talking about the scale length which just adds 2 more frets??

nah- not saying 22 frets are superior either. when it comes to guitars, if it works for the player, then it works, regardless of whatever is used.

bro- my neck pickup is Duncan's Hot Rhythm... 8)

the theory isss....

neck pickup position of a 24 frets vs 22 frets with the same scale length.

24 fret neck pickup is nearer to the bridge.

22 fret neck pickup is further away from the bridge.

imagine this.

your bridge pickup tighter or your mid pickup?
your mid pickup tighter or your neck pickup?

so if you shift your neck pickup position closer to the bridge is it going to be tighter?

That said... i don't give a flying *tooooooot* about this but you asked didn't ya?
