The buffer doesn't add high end -- that means you're already losing high end from the cumulative load of your cable length when bypassed. When ON, it's buffered, so some might not like the added high end tho it's really very little
Yup, you're right. Sry, I didn't phrase that too clearly. The buffer doesn't add high end -- that means you're already losing high end from the cumulative load of your cable length when bypassed.
@chungmun77: WAH BRO! out doing some major shopping! hahah easter la not christmas yet! am itching to get my hands on a BSR and a El Cap! Congrats!
meh, i dont get reverb pedals if i have an amp with reverb.
Oh, I did get a chance to hear the El Cap in action and to my untrained ears, it left a very good impression. I don't know how they do it but they somehow made the signal sound natural and, dare I say it, real. I'm rather convinced that these top end pedals are worth the moolah because they might just be the last pedal you buy. Well, at least for a while until something new pops up.
I find the El cap to add high end to your regular signal when on, maybe they're trying to emulate the preamp of the echoplex or something but it can be a bummer esp if you have a tone with lots of high end to begin with. Don't know about the other strymon pedals tho.
hah depends dude.. most solid state amps dont come with built in reverb. a reverb pedal's just good to have on the run i guess. and lets face it most solid state amp reverb.. or even small tube amp reverb, leaves a lot more to be desired. even more so if your into the whole shoe gazing thing.. where you need large dynamic cave like and other ridiculous reverb types. of course if you can carry around a good ballsy tube amp with awesome tube reverb, i'm all for it! but otherwise.. heh this will have to do for now.
And then.. there's rack reverbs hah... eventide's eclipse and roland ones.. hah WHOLE new classifications of orgasm right there...
