This article was on the papers recently and I am curious about what's your view on retired musicians teaching music. For me I find it good because these musicians were experienced and you could learn alot of them,an example would be my guitar teacher Spencer Goh.
What about you?And your know anyone besides those musicians mentioned in the article are retired musicians and teaching music as well?

in my opinion, there's no such thing as retired musicians in this case. cause when they
teach music, i consider them as still musicians. thinking about it, i dont think there are
retired musicians, except...err...those not in this world anymore. teaching music
means ure still in the business and its not over till u really leave music (which is doubtful) as a whole.

if refered to as performing musicians or professional musicians, then scrap what i just said.

yeah, I seem to be gigging with alot of them, nowdays they not playing 6 nights a week not like before.

teaching & the occassional gig only. Tough man ...

Lesson to be learned, always have something to fall back on in case music doesnt work out for you. You never can tell.

Heh, my guitar teacher now is Spencer Goh too. He's a cool guy :) First actual song he taught me is Santana's Black magic woman and not Smoke on the water :o lol. It's great learning from those who are experienced, and teaching is also a way of learning for them :) They taught me not just about the music scene but sometimes about life in Singapore too.

Nope, I've only seen his custom guitar and hear him talk on the phone about the gig he'll be going later in the evening or something lol. I'd like to see him play too.
