I ictaros New member Jul 6, 2005 #22 Use AURI hi-gloss for car polish. Most luthiers are using it too. It glosses like a brand new car after I apply. It beats any "guitar" polish cleaner anyday. You'll never get the shine from any "guitar" polisher.

AURI is a silicone based polish and it's a bane for finish touch ups or refinishing. How many luthiers do you know of locally???

Not to sound "high and mighty" but a luthier is someone who has built a number of guitars at a consistent level. Those guys you're referring to are not luthiers.
