Removing and restoring " Haze " from guitar finish

Wow junkiemanxl! Sorry the Autoglym Super Resin Polish didn't do the trick. If you don't mind lugging your guitars to the east, i would be more than happy to access exactly what's the issue and come up with a solution.

fretless6, the issue on the PRS guitars is not so much the wood but the finish de-laminating from the wood. This is a fairly common issue with Taylor, Tacoma and PRS guitars.

MadwerewolfBoy, the finish delamination has nothing to do with "the difference in expanding and contracting with the wood." It's more a chemical reaction issue between the sealer and top coats of the finish.

No worries mate, its really just cosmetics and not really bothersome. just wanted to get my hands dirty to do some restore work but if it fails then so be it. Importantly it still sounds and plays well. appreciate your extension for help :)

You stay in the west?

I had a used bass with nitro finish that came to me with so much haze that it looked as if it was wrapped with white film. Managed to clean it all off with some Meguiars polish and some elbow grease.

If you stay in the west, u're welcomed to pop over with your guitar and have a go at it. Rather than spending $20-30 on a bottle of car polish that might not work. I stay in Bukit Panjang btw.

Thanks bro!
Appreciate your offer!
Cheers!

hi guys...

try this. .. http://www.guitarscratchremover.com/index.html

i have bought stuffs over at this web and I can truly testify that this thing works. It does really removes scratces and the clouded area. my 1996 les paul, had this cloud problem not only in the body ( near the elbow handrest area ) and at the back of the beck as well...

but when i use the cream polish a few rounds, everything become good and smooth again...

I know the web site does't look much trusty lacking a serious look and sound like a fraud but... seriously... this sh*t works....
