hello softies,

i got my work experience coming up soon(June), and i was thinking of jobs that will interest me.
as i am into music, i thought i should try getting a job in a recording studio.

What do u actually do in a recording studio if your not the sound engineer dude?
Do you guys think this is a good idea? Is there any particular recording studio i should be aware of?

thanks for any suggestions/comments :p

im sure blueprintstudios will get to you very soon if he sees this thread ;) though i dont know what you can do in a recording studio besides doing the mixing and stuff.. maybe you can learn positioning of mics. i read its very important and its what something sound engineers tend to focus less on. on my take, i think its a cool job, getting to work with musicians on producing their albums ,EP when you're a musician yourself is pretty much ... Lovely.

However, I don't think there are many job for sound engineer. Most studio just need two person to operate. Those who are rich enough just open their own studio.

hey. I used to intern for Roland Lim. I learned quite a lot of stuff from him, such as mixing, mastering, producing and all. He's one of the young talented engineers in singapore and has produced many of local bands. If you are looking to learn maybe you can try him. He's looking for interns at the moment.

Heres his website:

crajche : thanks.as you can see soft.com.sg is more worth my time (and everyone elses) than facebook.com haha.

usernameofwin : http://soft.com.sg/forum/how-sound/ the top sticky thread there....
you can give a shot like what lou5y recommended after all it's stated on the website. I already got my intern but he just started school so a little more inactive, sec sch kids these days have alot more pressure than 10 years back.

thanks guys, really helpful, well im only 15 now, and for my curriculum i need to do 2 weeks work experience at around june, at the end of the semester. so ill check out Roland Lim and maybe if i find some other places i can call up. :D
