Recording In Studio

Hey softies! I'm not very sure where this thread should be listed under so do move it if it is the inappropriate section yeah. :D

Anyways, back to topic. I wanna ask about professional recording in studios for demos, songs or whatever you can call them.

My friend once told me that each instrument is recorded individually and at the end, mix together to get the song. Yeah, i'm pretty fine with that but what i wanna know is, how do each member in the band get the same timing without the drums?

Does the drummer get to record first and then the rest gets to listen to the beats through headphones??

Sorry if the question is phrased wrongly or something. Hahaha.

Hi yellowfellow

Ya, before the recording start, the band will decide on the Tempo(speed) of the song. They can record a click track on the multitrack recorder and follow it when recording their individual parts.
