There are lots of online flash downloaders that render flash videos at sites (including youtube) into various forms of video formats. You don't even have to download any software to do that. Google. If the flash site is in audio, these downloaders do that too (into various audio formats).

However, do be aware of copyright. If they are audio files, you may be able to download them, but you can't use them in your production/music/what have you.

Anyway physically "hijacking" the audio signal really is the easiest and most reliable way to circumvent any digital limitations. Of course you can replace tape with the line in on your computer soundcard or digital recorder and speakers with a proper line out. I do this all the time (in software though, intercepting audio so I can record from websites). Unfortunately the software is not for Windows.
 
I meant the original question you had when you started the thread. Has that question been answered?
