can someone recommend me songs with slide guitar? i need more songs so i can practice? try to keep it easy to intermediate difficulty. please dont tell me duane allman.. :( i'm stil quite noob at slide.

i already have:
free bird by lynyrd skynyrd
love will keep us alive by the eagles
day after day by badfinger
and most of the rainbow songs blackmore plays with slide

Listen to anything by Derek Trucks or Duane Allman.

yes i have been listening to alot of stuff by them, thats why i've been looking more seriously into slide.. i can play simple stuff but after hearing statesborough blues i got inspired. the only problem, its really hard!

so i kinda want to practice on noob friendly songs first.

i think for the love of god has quite a few slides in it. by steve vai

hehehehehehehehe

EDIT: ok maybe i thought wrong.

wah.. that song kinda got ruined by guitar hero.. i liked it until everyone started associating with guitar hero. no offence to guitar hero fans.

gotta learn some allman brothers and derek trucks songs man..

anything thats relatively manageable from them?

Hmm. I'm no expert in this area. But you could try In My Time Of Dying (Led Zeppelin's version). Lots of sliding. Hope that helps!

yeah yeah that was one of the songs i considered, but i couldnt figure out how to get that tone, and its open A tuning, a lil lazy to change tunings. heh..

thanks for the recommendation though

Slide players top learn from.....

Besides all the other good suggestions. Check the Gibson website and Arlen Roth's slide lessons there. But, try listening to: Johnny Winter, Elmore James, early ZZ Top, JB Hutto, Little Feat, George Thorogood, Robert Johnson!, Smokin' Joe Kubek, Ry Cooder, Muddy Waters, Son House and Leadbelly. A mix of modern and classic. Get all those perfect and Duane will seem easy. Another hint to playing well is try playing regular picked guitar in open tunings like Keith of the Stones often does. It will help you re-learn the notes on the fret board. DB
