Recommend me a delay pedal.

HAI guys.
so i've got some cash.
its about $250.

Well, no amount of budget is ever enough for gear anyhow.

So i need a delay. Analog or Digital it doesn't matter, but i prefer analog for the warm delays.
I'm looking at the EHX Memory Boy and Memory Toy, but i would rather pay a little more to get the Memory Boy with more functions. Wanna hear what you guys have to say.

Don't think its possible to buy a delay with tap tempo with that budget (1st hand).

Is it possible to buy a tap tempo switch and plug it into the input for EXP.PEDAL?

Thanks in advance.

looks like there isn't anything catered for the midrange budgets.
don't want something cheap, but yet don't want something with too many functions that i won't use also.

Fussy me.
I think i'll just buy the Memory Boy, its good enough for me.

Or is there anything on par with memory boy?

heh, the features on the memory boy will be prolly more than enough for the average delay user who doesnt use delay as a main effect.

To know which one to get, if you already have a basic idea of how you wanna use the delay, it will be much easier.

Of all whats possible with the memory boy, which are the features do you know you will be using for sure, will benefit from it, over other delay with the basic features?

How many times do you need to use the tap tempo, average in a gig context and not just bedroom wanking

Which are the parameters that you will use expression pedal with?

How do you use delay?

So on and so on, some questions which you should be asking yourself, in regards to getting the new delay or memory boy, in general

Oh yeah, if having money and just want to spend, then forget about all the above, just spend the money on any delay within budget instead. Any delay pedal will just fit into the picture somehow.

CMATmods. Or BOSS.
If you want EHX, the Memory Toy is good too. Junior version, but if you don't need all the excess, consider it. Save the money for a rainy day.

Wanted to get the memory toy, but since i have spare cash, i would rather pay more to have more functions, its not a big difference in price anyhow.

I'm thinking of using it as a type of reverb and the modulations will come in handy when i wanna add an extra layer of chording.

Won't really use exp pedal much, but its irritating because i have to bend down to adjust the delay speed. Thats why i'm thinking if a tap tempo could fit into the exp pedal input. Or are there any other ways to put it in.

Actually even if without the tap tempo, I would still get the memory boy.
Afterall, gear is experimental.

If you cannot find it, I don't know where you're looking. I tested one last week, right here in Singapore.

camp for a 2nd hand dd20.. imho the best delay in that price range. a dd7 would be about $220 second hand?

okay i know blackwood has deluxe memory boy now. But does any other stores have it cheaper?

sound alchemy has the DMB too i think but i dont know about the pricing tho. like keithC said, for 250 a 2nd hand DD-20 would be the most value for money.

The DMB would be about the same price as the DD-20 but with much less features.

i dislike the wait-awhile-to-tap-tempo . And many functions that i won't use. So i'm going for the DMB

ahh ic. for me, i dont mind it. the DMB would be a good alternative..if u wana save even more money u can get the echopark, good stuff for the price.

Heheh, for now you might not use the functions, in due time you might want...
It has a 100 second playback function, i think 5 or 7 (can't rmb) delay times you can save, no need to key in everytime, no need to tap neither.

just got the deluxe memory boy. awesome pedal. thx to great service from blackwood guitars and you guys.
