Recommend me a cheap tube amp!

hey guys, alittle help. want to try out some lower watt tube amps with a reasonable price. looking at the 300- 500 range.

epiphone valve junior. i think the combo version is in that range. the head and cab version is around $600+. check them out. or blackheart. but i think they only come in head and cab and prices ~$600.

would an epip valve junior head be more worth it to invest and get the cab later or just get a fender champion 600 ?

i've been thinking bout the fender champion as well.

anyone owns it? or have tested it wld like 2 give any reviews?

I like Fender Champion 600.. It was sold at a price of 335 I think at Swee Lee Sale. The all leather design makes it looks extremely beautiful. But I guess U might not be able to get it at that price now.. Wait for the next sale. =P

can i ask a noob qn? would tube amps like the valve jr still be good if im running high gain for metal through a pedal into the clean channel of the amp?

good meaning it still retains its character plus no wierd noises.

the vj is good. takes pedals well. but it lacks an eq so it'll be better if you can eq your pedal to wat you want.

I highly recommend the Blackheart Little Giant Stack cause i have one currently and it really handles pedals very well! If u r looking for a combo try their Little Giant combo Yamaha is selling at $440 the last time i saw it........But both has a different character in terms of tone, I think it is due to the speaker and diff cabs used......all in all a very gd buy imo!

Yeah I would say Blackheart. Dropped by Yamaha today and the stack is only going for 534 bucks. I would say its quite worth the price which is gonna be my next purchase.

some of us only need 1 channel. there are too many players who got a pricey tube amp only to utilize the clean channel because they swear by their pedals...

agree (but i'm using a non-Epi cab)
