yea me too.... it was when i first saw THe art of life that made me feel drum playing can be really nice...
I ve seen all those complex solos before but was never that impressed till yoshiki....
Now as i learn more... i begin to appreciate the other drummers as well...
His head bobbing/shaking is the best i have seen so far... none could do it as beautifully as him especially at the slow parts of art of life... its like a performance by itself.... Its not nice if u sit there like a stone...
also realise there wasnt any outstanding players in X...( maybe taiji) there were great in their fields, but when they came together the chemistry was unbelieveable... Toshi's powerful vocals. backed by the seamless playing of Pata and hide... yoshiki's hard but soulful drumming.... heath is barely passable( haha)
notice how the fact hitting the drums real hard makes the song sound angry at certain parts....
i ve seen some clinics with some wierd odd beat ( like 5 beat kinda thing i dunno) i would say these guys are techinically gd at drums, while yoshiki is better at bringing out the feelings of drums( in fact the piano too) ...
watching art of life is like a roller coaster ride... its like u just watched ur best movie, read your best book , had sex with the most beautiful gal in the world....
exceptional musical....
although different ppl different taste. i hope more ppl will take a closer look at them...
