really, there's no need to buy too expensive keyboards

Though not a keyboard controller, the Promega 3 has always look interesting. The Pro 1 and 2 aren't too good in terms of action and sounds. Swee Lee told me that they were going to bring in the Promega 3 two years ago - I never did see it around. So never had a chance to try the action and sound.

the Keystation Pro 88 good with all those knobs and faders, but the keys are terrible. It is totally unnatural and feels like I can break the keys after playing for a while. Others have complained about inconsistent velocities - so if you're going to sequence with it, you may have a bit of a headache. But if that's not a concern, the price is good for a 88 key.

Oh yeah! I tried M-audio Keybstation Pro88 at Sinamex,
the keys SUCK big time?
it dun even hv the pianoforte hammer-action touch,
just a normal synth touch.

So what's the best Master controller in the market right now?
I tried Alesis QS8.2 and it feels so good!
but it's a synth afterall !

really? oh man.. that's disappointing to hear.. i'll check it out at sinamex some time soon. thanks for the info guys!

Heard that the new generation has better action keys. Not sure if that is true. Maybe you can check it out and tell us.

yah..i just checked out this musicplayer.com keyboard forum and i did read abt some mentions of better key action. sigh. i guess it's gonna be characteristic of m-audio products. if they're gonna make it cheap and lightweight(if that's their purpose in the first place).even my radium61 feels a little fragile.

anyway.. yes. will wait for next shipment to check it out. if it's still bad i might get an 88es.

Motif ES 8 ???

Motif ES 8 ???

Wow! That's at least $5,000-6,000 ???
very expensive leh !?

the guy who sold me the An1x has one
and he says the sound can at least last
for 5 years. he also told me not to get the
Triton extreme as Korg sound normally expires
in 2 years. Any comments ???

cheers!

no lah.. not motif es8. no money for that. it's the m-audio keystation 88es. semi-weighted. but doubt it'll be coming in for at least few more months. just released in US only i think.

M-audio 88ES

halo,
I tried the M-audio 88ES at a friend's place and I think
it's the second release with a very much improved 88-key
pianoforte hammer action touch.

alrite!!! for $900++ for all the knobs and slider but without sound!
nowadays everyone is moving towards soft synth, no sound no worry!

The 88ES is not hammer-action. It is semi-weighted.

key stn 88

it is the keystation88, not otherwise.
the one i tried in Sinamex is rather bad,
the keys is not too good.

but the one i tried in my friend's place is just
like any other digital piano weighted keys. it
felt like the korg Sp series or Yamaha P series.
i believe it is the 2nd release or pressing with improved
keys.

MERRY XMAS and a Zappy new year to ALL !!!
