Just saw Raul Midon in concert @ Esplanade last night.

The guy is so choke full of soul - an honest, earnest out-pouring of him - its startlingly refreshing from all the robot stuff heard nowadays.

Now, to be frank, when we see a handicapped person play, there are times, in fact, ALL the time, we sympathize with them and well, even though, what they play might not be that good, we well, sympathize and give them our support. This Raul Midon has the chops - both guitar & vocals.

I think he's definitely worth checking out - I've not heard RnB, Blues, Country, Jazz, Funk mashed up like this for the longest time. Especially RnB.

Youtube his live videos... lots of stuff to take away from his playing and singing and mouth trumpet improvisations.

Did I mention he does the sickest mouth trumpet?

yap, tis guy is gd. a pity i missed the concert, my fren cldn't make it suddenly, so didn't get the tickets.

jus a side track, tis guy is really unnoticed, even i didn't heard of him, until a well known guitarist in s'pore ask me to check tis guy out, so i went to get his cd 1st and guess wat, HMV was putting his album on cheap sale, $7.95!!!!!!!!!!!!

toking about handicapped players, actaully i respect them a lot, i mean they have to put in much more effort than normal pple. i have tis short clip of a bass player who only have 1 hand so when he plays, its hammer ons all the way but tht guy is funky man

go to youtube and search his name, there's a instructional video of how he played "state of mind", when i watched it, 1st thing that came to my world was "wtf he's toking about". haha, see if u guys can get it. chiem stuff man
