think the problem is that its happening right smack in CNY 2008, if we're able to convince ppl like LAMC to bring them in and still attract the expat crowd and ppl who are still willing to go, why not?

Because unlike bands like NOFX and Sick of it All, RATM has successfully ride upon the "commercial" front of the music industry. They appeal to an audience base that would have cared less about politics and social issues if they had not exist. Simply put, they are able to speak their message to an audience base alot of other punk/hardcore/political based bands can't, based on a formula that WORKS (catchy riff lines, poetic and gripping lyrics, great energy).

In a sense, that what makes them even MORE dangerous than bands like, say, Slipknot. Slipknot's music is cathartic. RATM's music starts riots. That is why, the gahmen will think twice about bringing them here.

And I would personally think that they THEMSELVES would think twice about coming here. Slipknot can hold their tongue and tame their act a little when it comes to some concert rules slapped to performers when they come here (no swearing, no jumping into the audience, no setting their equipment on fire). Would RATM want to say yes to all that crap? Meh...

bcoz singapore is a siao-on, never say die "fine" country that cant give and take.. and ratm is a raging political band .. so they probably be paying up the summons and get paid less.. so its our damn luck that we are living on a controlled country..
