Questions on Pedals

Recently, I had bought my Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion but apparently, the LED light for CHECK seems weak whenever I'm on Distortion. I kept using the pedal almost everyday and now, come to a certain point whereby there is not a single light coming out from the CHECK. Furthermore, there's no sound when my setup is Amp > Boss > Guitar. But I managed to get back what I've lost when my setup is Amp > Guitar.

Take note my cords/amps/guitar is fine since I even tested them with different amps and cords. The Batt for the Pedal was already weak when I bought it, you know people testing and stuff...

So, my questions are (yes..finally):
i) Does the battery in the Boss MD-2 also affects the pedal's power?
therefore,
ii) Do I need regular 9V battery replacement for Boss MD-2?

Dood!!! Change that battery!!!! (Or at least get an AC/DC power supply!)

Yea, it's troublesome you know, when you're relying on your Pedal every time you're practising. Where can I purchase Boss' Adapter anyway?

I'll definitely get my hands on Energizers 9Volts...

you can just get a Visual Sound Onespot adapter from Guitar 77/ebenex/blackwood (I think they have it)
But if you're only planning to power one pedal, try the biyang adapter. I think it's only 10 bucks.

i) No not at all. It is the MEGA DISTORTION RAAARRGHHHHH POWER SIAL

ii) Nope. The Mega Distortion is so trogdor-awesome that it can generate its own power by its sheer awesome mega-bility. But you need to get it started abit before it can >>>100% Lifeforce<<< power up. I bet you don't shred on your guitar. If you did shred, you wouldn't have this problem at all. Shredding creates harmonics that resonate within the MD-2, creating a chain reaction that lets the pedal POWER UP!

Hope this helps! Break a leg!

avon nehneh, you suck so hard that its making me trying so hard, not to say anything over that...

Hmm.

As mentioned and implied above, yes... the batteries need replacement. Do take note that some drive units do suck more power than others. In general, if you do want your pedal to perform at its best (then again tonally this is subjective), then do get an individual power supply or at least a daisy chain if you know that you will be getting more pedals in the future.

Last but not least, please do some research on pedal power supplies, some are more "power" than others, in a manner of speaking.

but the Manual says Boss Adapters only...
Can use other adapters?

yes you can.

Basically for all pedals, you will need to know the power spec, usually it will be mentioned in the manual or on respective site.

For boss pedals type and a wide range of pedals, you need 9vdc supply.

The boss adaptor can be used, so can other adaptors mentioned in the thread
