Question About Proco Vintage The Rat

I wanna ask about the price range of this pedal. For those who knows the Proco Big Boxed Vintage The Rat has 2 version. One is the original made in the 80's another one is a reissue which made in 1991-2005.

I heard Mr.misse used to sell it for around the same price at the RAT2. So i need to know is that true? If its not then enlighten me. Thank you.

Anyway, i've got an answer from Mr.misse. Apparently, im kinda conned by one of the user here.

Proco Vintage The Rat Reissue (made in 1991-2005) : Used to be sold at Mr.misse at around SGD175 (brand new)

The one i bought from a user here. Used. SGD180. Modified input hole, added in a LED (which didnt goes off altho the distortion is off). The seller told me its not reissue and its the original one. Bought it, realize it the reissue one, PM the guy, no answer.

Money spent is spent, but this is really bad. Its a good pedal, i liked it. But cmon, people should be more honest when selling their stuff. I think i deserve more than this. Thank you.

ha ha ... rat uses fet switching for the LED so it doesn't completly go off in bypass ...mostly apparent if the LED is mod with those clear color type.

No worries ...shit happens....just don't pass it on.

You can,
1)do simple mod on the existing circuit to get vintage flavour ...rolling off some high end.

2)replace silicon chip with 'metal can' type just for the mojo ....mojo is good for the ego:mrgreen:

3)just pretend it's vintage :???:

Its not about that, its about the price i paid. The pedal is fine. I just dont like the idea that the dude is not honest. I've got no problem using a pedal thats not from the 80's. If its not truly vintage, just say so. Even if its not vintage, im still willing to buy it with SGD 155 or 165. I hate taking lies.

i've seen quite a bit of PROCO rats using the same circuit board. Just change components and omit the unnecessary.

those "vintage" rats i opened up does not have the LED circuit wired up. can easily plug and play some components and rewire the jumper wires to the switch.

some rats even have blue 3PDT and LEDs are wired direct. I think probably all rats now have the blue one. Not in the modding business for too long to know. :mrgreen:
