afi isnt punk man. just look at them and it tells all. i remember davey used to have a devilock when he was younger. so cool.

i dont get the whole shirt and tie thing. billie joe does that, he doesnt play emo. chris #2 from anti-flag does it, hell no, anti-flag is NOT emo. i say punks started that man. but i still prefer the skate-punk or street-punk style dressing. no mohawk allowed in sch though, bad rule

afi was never punk. its us who make up things like wearing shirt and tie is = emo. you can be dressing like what people call street punk but in actual fact u may be a trendy wanker. so i guess u cant always judge a person by his/her dressing.

AFI started out as Hardcore Punk. Soon they sounded more Rock than Punk. They now describe themselves as Rock, Punk, Emo. So i regard them as the best of troo Punk if u'd call em Punk :lol: Especially in their early years since i havnt listened to them in a long while.

i disagree. they played sort of melodic hardcore, unless u meant that was hardcore punk. however lyrically i dont think they were ever really punk
