PRS Owners Own Up

Hey guys, i'm wanting to give PRS a try.
But i'm being bothered by quite a few things.
What's the difference between SE and USA?
Is it like epiphone and gibson, Squier and Fender ? Something like that ?
And any recommendation ? I play mostly rock. Prefer something with much higher gains.
I personally have not touch PRS before, so need some advice.
And how's the stock pickups in there ? Are they suited for high gain and stuff ?
