i once heard that bass guitar actually belongs to the violin family instead of guitar family. Wonder if its true?

Or its just something similar to the debate of piano. Is piano a percussion instrument or stringed instrument?

Nice to play and also nice to display.

Their Swamp Ash model left a lasting impression on me when I held it and strum an open G chord many years back. When I'm filthy rich and eat caviar for breakfast, I'll hunt one down just for the open G chord.
