probs wif string

ok..i just realized that my guitar is buzzing at the top fretsnear the nut...thanks for the help!!!.... btw may i know among which of these things shud i get first...

a wah pedal,
an average multi effects pedal,
a dist pedal
OR
any other effects pedal that u can recommend

some of my friends suggested buying pedals other than distortion cuz my amp oredi has overdrive. most of them suggested a second hand wah...some suggested second hand multi fx like those zoom 505...i not sure....can u guyz give some advice...thanks...

Hmm... effects? I really dun know. Actually, it's more of personal preference. For me, I got distortion/overdrive first 'cos my tiny amp dun have overdrive. I personally dun use a lot of effects, just a distortion box and delay/reverb. If joo can afford it, a multieffects would be nice to start with, 'cos joo get almost everything in one unit. =)

I'd say go with the multi effects first. Experiment and play around with the different sounds and see which one you like. As you progress or if you really like a particular effect then go for the stompbox.

vespa..ask your friend to borrow their`s for a few days..
see what you like than decide what to buy....
some ppl prefer buying things like chorus pedal (play clean sound)while others like distortion type of pedal..even so they are many kind of distortion pedal..as for me i like overdrive pedal...personal taste..
it might take sometime for you to distinguish the different tone generated by this stompbox..eg..distortion pedal what tone, delay, flanger ,etc..
once u make ur decision (Multi effects of stomp)save up and proceed to buy..and practice....

If u are not overly tone sensitive (tone freak), a multi-pedal will satisfy most of your needs. Wah? Included.. flanger+chorus ...inside....the Messa sound? Inside..etc

However, if you are a "tinker" wants to adjust stuff LIVE or a tone phreak (very perculiar about specific sounds)... then individual pedals are good (but also expensive).

I think its good to invest in a distortion if you are a PUNK-rokker... the metal zone is not bad...

If you are a jazz/blues person...can try a compression pedal..with an overdrive and chorus. CE-3, SD-1 or OD-3, with CS-1..

If you are a classic 80s rock person, can't live without the overdrive man.... unless ur amp has a good tube foot switch thing, get a pedal...

IMO, wah-wah are a little more advanced...lol... but it really depends on the style.... if you do funk/reggae...the auto-wah and wah-wah comes in useful...

If you are a SOLO monster...well, its really ur playground then...get them all!!!!!!

Anyway, this is all in my perspective....take with a pinch of salt, most important is whether u like the sounds.

wohoh. all those advice was really useful. well i've decided to go for a multi efx since im not that rich and not really a tone phreak. ahakz.

to guitar_phreak: thAnks a lot...

haha thanks to the rest for helping. learn a lot of new stuff here. hehe. btw, may i know what the ruff price for a second hand zoom 505(2)? my friend recommended me that one.
