presonus/ preamps

ok lah ok lah..i understand what i need now already.. i just need to buy the firepod and a couple of DI boxes..

cuz i am doing things like a live recording..as in i only have one shot at recording.. something like the G3 thing like that..someone plays the rhythm..someone plays the solo.. the "magic" is that only one time..and i must get it down..

but if i wanna record a proper song, then i can do multiple recording..as in repeating and repeating.then i no need get so many inputs lah.. cuz everyone take turns to plug into presonus..

ok thanks everyone!..whoo...read up a lot today man.

DI box is really not that necessary la, first try direct plug in without a DI box lor, if it really messes up / noisy etc then come and get one.

The presonus firepod is really good quality???? I think not!!!quote]

I think it's very subjective. Some $350+ units like the Mackie Onyx Satellite has good pre-amps and ADDA Convertors. As Technology advances, things get cheaper, but they are not necessarilly crap. All i want to say is the pursuit of gear is never ending. But also don't expect to pay $100+ dollars and expect the sound from an Apogee. I think it's good measure to look at the units in your particular range and make a decision. There are always uses for things but a little bit of planning would help you maximise your gear.
