well i dont really hear much envy and isis kind of post metal in the scene here , but as for post-rock "i am david sparkle" and "amateur takes control" are one of the better popular ones.

for Isis and Neurosis (the twin towers of post metal) the music is powerful, angry, sweeping but somehow never that dark or negative, almost more like a cleansing, illuminating through mass n' volume kind of force.............

almost life-changing in its power.........

That's quite true.. But there are also other post metal/sludge doom bands that should not be forgotten.. Bands like Sleep and Boris also plays a part in contributing..

I guess Post-metal isn't that recognized because most metalheads generally prefer to listen to straightforward songs which they can headbang to, instead of artsy and lengthy songs which takes time to comprehend.

It is not recognized here in Singapore but in some countries, alot of responses are received.. It's basically more like ambient music except that it is slower than it..

now listening to the new Neurosis album 'Given to The Rising'.........very agrro and closer to Silver In Blood / Times of Grace than the more spaced outings of the last 2.........
