My guitar was bought last week so were the amps. Its a white Samick Greg Bennet series.

Today, I plugged it in and theres no sound...I checked the amps..the volume knob on the guitar..and everything

is it the cable? cause i usually just ....recklessly pull it out..my friend says it could be that.

well..several factors..loose connection in ur cable..loose connection in ur ouput jack..ur amp is prolly off?or u plug into the wrong jack of the amp?

or maebe ur guitar juz stinks.

kidding.

hahaha.

i turned it on...i on the overdrive full, and i can hear that its working.

output jack not working on the guitar? hmmm.

my friend is gonna pass me his cable in a few days to try. this sucks man. its only 1 week old.. lol.

things nvr last in my hse. my ps2 lasted for 6months till it went dead

Then you better start learning how to take care of your things.

Are you one of those people, where your friends wouldn't lend you things because you just don't take care of them?

I hope not.

hahaha nah..

strangely, i look after other people's stuff better.

my ps2 went dead cause of over-playing..and i pretty much got a faulty ps2 from sim lim. had to repair twice. grr

nvm..try ur fren's cable la..see if its alrite..

if still cannot take it back to where u bought it from..it shud be covered by warranty.

if the cables are good and there's still no sound, u might want to bring it back to where u bought it from and have them take a look rather than waste time troubleshooting.

shit..now its arlgiht...

must be the jack...for past 2 or 3 days, i must keep turning the cables and then there's sound..

i spose its a faulty cable/output jack.

i'll try with my friends cable..if its still this on/off problem where i have to turn the jack, i'll go back to davis.

thanks for all the advise guys.

but its still bad..i was playing halfway...and it went out. LOL. wtf

maybe you should go look for a feng shui master, but they will call you to shift your house until very messy..

anyway, troubleshooting is troublesome, just bring it back or go to the professionals, they can help you do intonation also.

invest in a good cable, one that preferably doesn't go dead upon tugging (accidental of course, not on purpose). these days, good cables are affordable.

Black_Death

hahaha. i play in between breaks for 30mins or so...

2 or 3 hours. hmmm. i'll just wait for my friends' cable.

anyway, i appreciate the help guys

so i borrowed my friends' cable today.

and it works..but theres a problem...the overdrive and feeddback is much much stronger than usual. theres a strange noise coming out of the amp, even when im strumming.

also, when i tap the back part of the neck of the guitar, theres an echo and hollow sound (humming) that coemsout of the amp.

wahats wrong? the guitar or the amp?

Take it back

I think it would be best to take everything back to where you purchased it as it should be still covered under warranty. The shop should take the responsibility as it is their product.

The only time where warranty cannot be provided would be where you did not take care of the equipment. One of the things which you could learn when you get the problem fixed is some basic guitar maintenance skills so that it'll last longer.

(I'm not saying you didn't take care of it. Just giving you some advice from my own experience.)
