Playing Bass on keyboards

Hi fellow SOFTies,

anyone knows what is the proper setup to play bass parts on keyboards.
This is because we have a coming gig, but still cant find a bassist.
Any gears to recommend?

You can operate the keyboard in Split mode and assign a bass patch to the lower 2 octaves. Playing wise will depends on your skill.

Agree. Besides the skill, also depends on how many keyboardists you have (2 or more keyboardists enables you to dedicate on person to bass). If only one, then it depends on the genre. If the genre definitely requires a dedicated bass part, then it's split mode. If not, the keyboardist can always cover the bass range without playing the bass instrument itself - requires the right choice of patches, but very genre dependent.

ok, we are actually playing classic rock ballads, and a bit of soul-jazz stuff.
Thnks for all the ideas, dun know whether can pull it off, i have never attempted playing bass on keys b4, anyway
